SUMMARY: LC 36 3158ER

"Georgia Pregnant Workers Fairness Act". Would require employers to provide reasonable accommodations to job applicants and employees for circumstances related to pregnancy, childbirth and related conditions.  Accommodations would include more frequent breaks, time off to recover from childbirth, obtaining or modifying work equipment and or seating. Temporary transfer to a less strenuous position. Private nonbathroom space for expressing breast milk, as well as assistance with manual labor or modified work schedules if requested by the applicant or employee.

 

EFFECTIVE DATE: July 1, 2017
