SUMMARY: LC 33 6998

Would create the House Study Committee on Service Animals for Physically or Mentally Impaired Persons. The committee would consist of five members of the House of Representatives to be appointed by the Speaker of the House. The speaker would also designate a member as a committee chairperson. The committees purpose would be to determine if there is a need for a uniform certification process or the issuance of information cards to weed out "fake service animals". The committee would also determine if the use of "fake service animals" should justify a criminal charge.

This committee would be abolished on December 1, 2017.
