SUMMARY: LC 37 2425

Would create the Senate Study Committee on Service Animals for Physically or Mentally Impaired Persons. The committee would consist of five members of the Senate to be appointed by the President of the Senate, who would also designate a member of the committee as a chairperson.

The committees purpose would be to determine if there is a need for a uniform certification process or the issuance of information cards to weed out "fake service animals". The committee would also determine if the use of "fake service animals" should justify a criminal charge.

This committee would be abolished on December 1, 2017.
