SUMMARY:

LC 33 7668

Would lower the age of compulsory school attendance from 6 years old to 5 years old. Would also make kindergarten mandatory for all children prior to entering the first grade. Would also require each school system to provide a full day kindergarten program.

EFFECTIVE DATE:

July 1, 2019, if passed.
