SUMMARY:
LC 49 0038
Would require local boards of education to make its unused facilities available to local charter schools. Unused facilities would mean any property of a local board of education owned by the state and under the management of the State Properties Commission, that have not been used by the local board of education or the state for the previous two years and that are not included in the local school system's five-year educational facilities plan. In turn the local charter school will not be allowed to sell or dispose of such property without permission from the local board and the local charter school may not be charged a rental or leasing fee for the property.
