SUMMARY:

LC 49 0117

Would require mandatory pre-kindergarten and kindergarten for all children prior to entering first grade and would lower the age of compulsory attendance down from 6 years old to 4 years old. Would require all local school systems to offer a full-day kindergarten program.

EFFECTIVE DATE:

July 1, 2020, if passed.
