SUMMARY:

LC 49 0173

Relates to employment under the "Quality Basic Education Act". Would prevent a teacher who receives any combination of a rating of unsatisfactory, ineffective, or needs development in two consecutive performance evaluations from being eligible for a renewable certificate from the Professional Standards Committee. Any teacher that receives such a rating the first time, will be offered the opportunity to have an alternative evaluator assigned to evaluate him or her during the following school year, provided that the teachers employment contract has been renewed.  

 

EFFECTIVE DATE:

July 1, 2020, if passed.
