SUMMARY:  LC 51 0102  LC 51 0161S

This bill makes permanent a pilot begun in the 2019-2020 school year to establish an agricultural education program in elementary schools. It is optional for a local board to implement the program but if they do, they must fully fund it and hire an agricultural education teacher for the program. 

The Department of Education shall provide a program evaluation of the success and impact of the three year pilot program by December 31, 2022.
