SUMMARY:  LC 51 0101  LC 51 0200S

The bill authorizes the Department of Education to establish a pilot program by 2022-23 school year to provide for development and study of outdoor learning spaces on elementary and secondary school property.  Private, nonprofit, or local district funding may be used.  If participating, the local board shall agree to implement a program to incorporate outdoor learning spaces into the existing curriculum and to continue to provide the program at least three years.

The Department of Education shall provide for an evaluation upon completion of the third year of the pilot and report the results the to two Education Committees.
