Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This bill would amend Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the O.C.G.A. to require elections for all public offices in Georgia to be partisan, with the exception of those systems who have a local act in place prior to June 30, 2012. Those non-partisan systems would have to hold a public referendum at the 2012 November general election to continue as non-partisan. The act also covers judicial offices.
