SUMMARY:

This bill would amend Article 6 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of O.C.G.A. to go back to 3 diplomas with graduation requirements very similar to those in effect in the 1960’s.  It includes a General Diploma that requires 18 credits to be completed in 3 years, a Career/Vocational/Technical Diploma that requires 22 credits, and a College Preparation Diploma that requires 23 credits but does not meet current Board of Regents requirements for admission to state colleges and universities.  It limits access to the SAT to only college prep students.  It does not propose changes to the special education diploma.
