SUMMARY:

            This bill would amend Article 6 of Title 20 of O.C.G.A. to temporarily waive expenditure controls relating to funds earned for direction instructional costs, media center costs, staff and professional development costs, and additional days of instruction.  A sunset provision is included.

REQUIREMENTS:

• The bill would waive expenditure controls for the categories listed above and require that each LBOE report to DOE its budgets and expenditures as part of the fall and spring FTE count reports.
• It prohibits penalties for failure to comply with expenditure controls as long as the reports are filed as required above.
• An automatic sunset is provided for July 1, 2010.
