SUMMARY:

            This bill would amend Chapter 5 of Title 43 of the O.C.G.A. to amend the definition of “athletic injury.”

REQUIREMENTS:

• The new definition changes “recreational activities, or any activities” to “recreation.”
• It also eliminates “without respect to where or how the injury occurs” to “or any comparable injury which prevents such person’s participation in such activities.
• It eliminates the disclaimer that would limit the trainer to anything “beyond the determination of the advising and consenting physician.”
• It adds a disclaimer that does not limit the trainer’s responsibility or services to a specific location or type of location.
