SUMMARY:  This bill would amend Code Section 20-2-51 to “grandfather in" board members reelected or reappointed on or after July 1, 2010, if they were in office on June 30, 2010, so as to allow those veteran board members to run for re-election even if they have relatives in administrative positions in the school system.

NOTE:  Another bill by Rep. Tommy Benton, et. al., HB 924, would eliminate the paragraph related to nepotism altogether.
