SUMMARY:  This bill would amend Chapter 18 of Title 47 to place the Employees’ Social Security Coverage Group under the jurisdiction of the State Personnel Administration rather than ERS.

REQUIREMENTS:

• It would by-pass payment into a state contribution fund, which would be eliminated, and direct the payments directly to the federal Social Security Administration.
• It would eliminate a provision that requires the SBOE to withhold funds from a system that had failed to make payments into social security for ERS employees
