This bill would amend Article 2 of Chapter 4 of Title 18 of the O.C.G.A. to exclude retirement benefits from sources of garnishment. By definition, the bill would include any plan, fund or program establish by an employer or employee organization that would provide medical benefits, disability, death, unemployment, vacation pay, apprenticeship programs, day care centers, scholarship funds, or prepaid legal services. It would not apply to alimony, child support, separate maintenance or judgment for divorce involving property division.
