Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This bill would amend Code Section 20-8-1 of the O.C.G.A. to repeal a population provision related to the term “campus” and to add a new definition. The term “campus” would then apply to:

1. Grounds and buildings owned by a college or university;

2. Grounds and buildings of a school or training facility under authority of the SBOE;

3. Any public or private property within 500 yards of the property of an educational facility and ¼ mile of any public street or public sidewalk connecting different buildings of the educational facilities listed.

Short Note: Redefining campus
