Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This bill would amend Article 1 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the O.C.G.A. to prohibit the SBOE from adopting any common core standards or the PARC assessment. It is a condensed version of SB 167, but it does not contain a curriculum council requirement and leaves the SBOE the sole authority for adopting academic content standards with no one participating in any national consortium, etc.
