HB 65 (Caldwell, Ramsey, Teasley, Turner, Dudgeon, and others - Republican)

Amends Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the O.C.G.A. by adding a new Code Section, 20-2-167.1 requiring that all boards of education and the governing boards of certain charter schools:

  1. Advertise and hold 2 public hears to provide an opportunity for public input on its proposed annual operating budget prior to adoption.
  2. Publish on the district's or charter's website a summary of the proposed and adopted annual operating budget.
  3. Provide an electronic copy of the line item detailed adopted budget to any person who requests such, within 3 days. 
Short Note: Two Public Meetings - Operating Budget Posted to the Internet - Provide copy of budget on request.
