Staff Analysis of the Legislation

House Bill 963

Chairman: Tom Rice

Committee: Motor Vehicles

House Sponsor: Harry Geisinger

Chairman Rice’s opinion of this legislation:

HB 963 adds an additional shared revenue tag for the Georgia Soccer Association. This will give the association a funding source through a split of the special tag revenue. They have met the DOR process requirement for pre-selling 1000 tags and buying a $50,000 bond, as set in current statute.

This bill comes to the House Floor under the Structured Rule.

Further Action

The Senate moves the new language for the Georgia soccer license plate from 40-2-86.21(n)(9) to 40-2-86.21(o)(38) By moving it only $10 from the tag fee will go to the organization as opposed to all but $3 if it were left in (n). The House disagreed to the Senate Substitute.
