Senate Bill 382

Chairman: Bob Lane

Committee: Game Fish & Parks

House Sponsor: Bob Lane

Senate Sponsor: Bill Heath

This Game Fish & Parks Committee Substitute seeks to change the licensing and fee requirements for licensed hunters and gamers when renewing their license.  It lowers the fee for renewal so that Georgia residents receive the same financial benefit as non-residents who purchase a temporary license.  The committee substitute added language regarding online purchases of licenses, since the state has now entered into a contract for an online licensing system.  The substitute also give gamers, who apply for a renewal, a discount of $ 2. 75 on their fee, since that will be the additional cost for online purchases. However, the Rules Committee Substitute removed the online licensing language and added a new Section 1, which required the department to take steps to promote the sale of licenses at independently owned and operated small business retail stores.

This bill comes to the House Floor under the Modified Structured Rule.
