The Senate added floor amendments: adding retired peace officers from a local law enforcement agency to the persons allowed to carry a pistol into a public building; making carry provisions subject to a courthouse security plan that prohibits persons from carrying a pistol; adding a new section to allow a person licensed or permitted to carry a firearm on public transportation, unless in conflict with federal law or other code sections; and prohibiting persons licensed or permitted to carry firearms from consuming alcohol in a restaurant or other establishment while carrying a firearm (misdemeanor). |
