This bill sets up additional criteria for determining eligibility for children with Spina Bifida who attempting to qualify for the Katie Beckett program.  By meeting any three of the listed criteria, eligibility is granted and no further testing is required.

This bill received a Do Pass recommendation from the Health & Human Services Committee and comes to the House Floor under the Modified Structured Rule.

WHAT PROBLEM/OPPORTUNITY DOES THIS LEGISLATION ADDRESS?

This legislation addresses problems in the approval process for Spina Bifida patients, who are trying to get into the Katie Beckett program.

 

WHAT IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THIS LEGISLATION?

This legislation simplifies the process so that patients who are trying to get into the system are not faced with more complications.
