Chairman Cooper’s Opinion of the legislation:
This legislation increases the number of people who serve on the current Composite State Board of Medical Examiners to fifteen, by adding one physician and one additional consumer member. The bill also changes the name of the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners to the Georgia Composite Medical Board. The State Medical Board was in support of this legislation.
This bill originally came to the House Floor under the Open Rule.
Further Action
The House voted to reconsider its action, putting the bill back on the General Calendar. The Rules Committee adopted a substitute containing the bill's original language and sends it to the House Floor under the Modified Structured Rule. |
