House Bill 715

Committee Chair: Austin Scott

Committee:Governmental Affairs

House Sponsor: Austin Scott

HB 715 removes the requirement that county directors of family and children services be selected from a list of qualified applicants supplied by the State Merit System.

This bill comes to the House Floor under the Modified Structured Rule.

Chairman Scott’s opinion of the legislation:

HB 715 cleans up an area of the code concerning the appointment of county directors of Family & Children’s Services to make current law consistent with current practice. The current code involves the State Merit System. However, current practice is not to involve them in hiring decisions.
