Chairman Rice’s Opinion of the Legislation:

This bill allows foreign nationals who are in the US legally to retain their country’s drivers license when applying for a Georgia drivers license. Driving records will show that there are two drivers licenses when checked by law enforcement. The Department of Driver Services must attempt to verify legal status through the federal SAVE program. This change will be good for economic development.

This bill comes to the House Floor under the Modified Structured Rule.
