The Senate Judiciary Committee gave this bill a favorable report as amended. The amendment specifies the events a first responder must experience and the standards by which a PTSD diagnosis must be made. Also, first responders can file a workers’ compensation claim due to a PTSD diagnosis, the amendment requires a claimant to first exhaust PTSD treatment services through the SCLEAP and SCFFAST program.
