02.25.2014 The Senate Judiciary committee gave this bill a favorable report with an amendment. The amendment includes a $100 fine for the first offense, but removed the 2 point deduction for a first offense. The amendment also created a $200 fine and 2 points for second offense and $300 and 2 points for third offense.
02.20.2014 A Senate Judiciary subcommittee gave this bill a favorable report with an amendment. The amendment includes a $100 fine and 2 points for a first offense, unless the driver opts into a training program. Also, a $500 fine and 4 points for second offense.  $25 of the fine goes to a statewide trauma fund.
