Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This bill allows farmers to host farm-to-fork events where farmers provide paying guests with food primarily sourced from the farm. Farms that sponsor such events must provide their guests with written notice that the farm and food are not inspected by the state or local health department. However, if there is a suspected outbreak of illness after a farm-to-fork event, the health department may step in to investigate. The bill exempts farm-to-fork events from county, city, or town regulation.
