This legislation allows certain former law enforcement officers to receive a weapons carry license without having to pay the permit fee.  To be eligible, the individual must have served in law enforcement for at least ten years but left as a result of a disability caused in the line of duty and receives benefits under the Peace Officers' Annuity and Benefit Fund or from a county, city, state, state authority or federal retirement system.

This legislation establishes a pilot program to be administered by the Department of Community Health to allow emergency medical technicans with rthe permission of a physician involuntarily transport patients who are having a mental health episode.

This bill would create an optional process for counties and cities that are underserved by financial institutions to apply to the state Department of Community Affairs (DCA) for designation as a "banking improvement zone." Upon approval by DCA, the county or city could designate a particular financial institution that locates within the jurisdiction as the depository of public funds. Except as otherwise provided in a written agreement, the county or city would obtain an interest rate at or below the institution's 2-year Certificate of Deposit interest rate.
