DuBose graduated from the University of South Alabama in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, followed by a Master of Business Administration from Spring Hill College between 1985 and 1988. She built a successful career in banking, working as a Commercial Lending Officer at Compass Bank for 12 years from June 1985 to September 1997, where she specialized in various types of real estate loans including residential, construction, commercial development, and private banking. After retiring from banking, DuBose dedicated herself to community service and volunteer work while raising her family. She became President of the Republican Women of North Shelby County from January 2021 to November 2022, leading a group of over 200 women. She also served as Vice President of Programming for the Greater Birmingham Republican Women from January 2014 to January 2019. DuBose's extensive community involvement includes serving as Chairman of Distinguished Young Women of Shelby County from July 2012 to January 2017, and playing leadership roles with the American Heart Association from 1995 to 2015, including serving as President of the Guild in 2006 and Chairman of the Heart Ball in 2007, where she helped raise over $700,000 for research. She has sponsored several significant pieces of legislation, including a bill to protect women's collegiate sports by requiring athletes to compete based on their biological sex, which was her first bill and became law in 2023. She also introduced the "What is a Woman" Act, seeking to define sex-based terms using biological definitions. DuBose has received recognition for her legislative work, being named a "Champion Woman" by the Independent Women's Forum in 2024 for her advocacy for women in sports and maintaining Title IX protections. She was also selected as a 2024 Club for Growth Fellow, engaging with leaders nationwide on topics related to limited government, economic freedom, and free enterprise. Additionally, she serves as Alabama State Chair for the American Legislative Exchange Council.
