| Rebecca grew up in Richardson, Texas, earning her BA from the University of Texas, MSOM from University of Arkansas, and JD from Baylor University. She has spent more than 25 years in law, operations, and real estate development in the private sector. She has worked for Specialized Real Estate Group, Wal-Mart, and founded The Burkes Company - a successful residential & commercial real estate development, construction, and brokerage company.
Rebecca has a passion for serving in the public sector. She worked as a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin Law School & Luther College, and as Deputy Director and General Counsel for the Arkansas Department of Heritage.
Rebecca moved to Northwest Arkansas after law school, and currently lives in Springdale. She is married to Aaron Burkes, a former Arkansas State Representative and current CEO of the Northwest Arkansas National Airport. They have two adult sons, Nathan and Nicholas, and enjoy spending time outdoors and hiking on the trail system in the area. |
