Bio

Senator Dan Sullivan represents Senate District 21, which is made up of part of Craighead County. First elected to the Senate in November of 2019, he was sworn in on the first day of the regular session of 2020 and is 33rd in seniority in the 35-member Senate. For the 93rd General Assembly Senator Sullivan is a member of Legislative Joint Audit, Joint Performance Review, Public Health, Welfare and Labor and City, County and Local Affairs Committees. Senator Sullivan served as a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives for three terms before he was elected to the Arkansas Senate. He served as the chair for House Higher Education Subcommittee, co-chair of ALC-Administrative Rules Subcommittee and served on several different House and Joint Committees. In the 92nd General Assembly, he sponsored legislation to amend the definition of the Homestead Act and to establish the Arkansas Grain Grading Act. Senator Sullivan earned a BSE from Arkansas State University. He also earned an MSE in School Administration for Northeast Missouri State. He is a board member of Arkansas State Chambers of Commerce. He is retired from the healthcare industry and a former administrator of the Jonesboro School System. He enjoys golf, hunting and fishing. He is a father of two and currently resides in Jonesboro with his wife, Maria.
