Committee Assignments

William grew up in Broomfield in a broken home. His father left when he was a child, and his mother struggled. They got by sometimes because of generosity from the community, public assistance, and incredible public schools. He put himself through college, sometimes working two or three different jobs at a time. William's success wasn't just because of a lot of hard work and some luck; it was because he was given the chance to succeed. That's a chance that everyone, regardless of their background, deserves. William has the experience to do the job, and at 29, he will bring a new generation of leadership to the legislature. He's a former assistant bench jeweler, public transit outreach advocate, community organizer, staffer in the Colorado House Majority, and current member of the Broomfield City Council. Nothing could have prepared William for getting elected in November of 2019, right before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Still, he championed assistance for local small businesses negatively impacted by the pandemic and emergency housing assistance for people struggling. He has also helped create Broomfield's Housing Authority. Authored municipal campaign finance reform to limit the influence of big money in local politics and made it easier for residents to vote by adding additional ballot drop boxes across town. William is currently Chairman of the Broomfield Transportation Forum and a Board Director of the Denver Regional Council of Governments. He believes in working together across party lines to solve the challenges of today. William holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado Denver. He is currently completing his Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Colorado Denver. He lives with his fiancee Bria and their retired racing greyhound Pax.
