| Shortly after graduating from college he volunteered to help resettle evacuees from hurricane Katrina with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. That experience inspired him to continue serving his country to the best of his ability.
He found his opportunity to further his service when he was selected to train as a helicopter pilot in the United States Army.
After Warrant Officer training and flight school, David flew the Kiowa Warrior helicopter in service to his country. He narrowly survived a crash that left him paralyzed from the waist down, but with the help of friends, family, and the amazing team at Craig Hospital he was able to recover and begin pursuits in adaptive sports.
His drive to serve others did not end with catastrophic crash that left him injured, he has continued to advocate for his community, veterans, and more at the state Capitol and beyond. |
