Kimberly "Kim" Berfield has been a conservative Republican since the age of 18. Being a lifelong Republican while maintaining loyalty to the Republican Party go hand in hand for Kim.
Her leadership experience at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and WellCare Health Plans, Inc., holds knowledge of the ins and outs of health issues impacting our families and friends. Kim's understanding of public policy while conquering community needs has her aligned with core practices, resources and advocacy to represent us.
Kimberly served as Florida State Representative to District 50 (sections of Clearwater, Safety Harbor, and Feather Sound) starting November 2010 and was subsequently re-elected for two terms. She was then appointed by the Republican Governor of Florida to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Florida Department of Health. Kimberly was Florida's Officer of Women's Health Strategy and spokesperson for the Tobacco Free Florida Campaign.
Her voting record in the Florida House is revered by Republican state and national elected leadership to be based on strong conservative values and with the moral compass needed to keep the Sunshine State red.
While in the Florida House, Kimberly passed four bills into law and brought over $6 million to the district while serving as Chairman of the Republican Conference, on the Republican Speakers' Leadership Team and Chairman of the State Administration Appropriations Committee which oversees the budgets of Financial Services, Revenue and Business and Professional Regulation.
Kimberly's investment in our community is shown through her involvement on Clearwater Homeless Intervention Program, Leadership Pinellas, American Cancer Society, Advisory Council Representative on the U.S. 19 Task Force, Metropolitan Planning Council, Clearwater East Rotary Club, Friends of the Library and many other organizations.
With a Bachelor's in Communication from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) and a Master's in Business Administration from Northeastern University, Kimberly has been acknowledged with an "Accomplished Alumnae Member" designation. |
