| Lori Berman is an attorney married to Jeffrey Ganeles of Plainview, New York. They have two children, Caryn and Steven Ganeles.
Born on June 27 in New York, New York, she moved to Florida in 1958. She earned a B.A. from Tufts University in 1980, a J.D. from George Washington University Law School in 1983-where she was part of the Journal of International Law-and later obtained an LLM in Estate Planning from the University of Miami.
Berman was elected to the Florida Senate on April 10, 2018, and has been reelected subsequently. She previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018. Over the years, she has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Florida Dental Association Legislative Service Award (2016), the Florida Association of Counties County Champion Award (2015), the Florida League of Cities Legislative Appreciation Award (2014), and the Florida Solar Energy Industries Association Solar Champion Award (2014). She was also named Feminist of the Year by the Palm Beach County National Organization for Women in 2014 and Legislator of the Year by the National Women's Political Caucus in 2013.
She is actively involved in various organizations, including the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce, Emily's List, Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Florida Bar Association, and several local chambers of commerce. Additionally, she serves as a board member for the South Palm Beach County Jewish Federation Women's Division.
