| Ben Albritton is an agribusiness owner married to Missy Albritton of Wauchula, Florida. They have three children- Rebecca, Joshua, and Ryan.
Born in Lakeland, Florida, he earned a B.S. in Business/Citrus from Florida Southern College in 1990. His religious affiliation is Christian, and he enjoys spending time with his family and reading.
Albritton was elected to the Florida Senate in 2018 and has been reelected subsequently. Before that, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018. He has also held leadership roles in the Florida Citrus Commission as Chair, the Peace River Valley Citrus Growers Association as President, and the East Charlotte Drainage District as Chair.
Throughout his legislative career, he has received multiple honors, including the Champion of Agriculture award from the Florida Farm Bureau (2013-2018), the Distinguished Advocate Award from the Florida Chamber of Commerce (2012-2018), and Legislator of the Year awards from the Florida Forestry Association (2016), Florida Cattlemen's Association (2013), Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association (2012), and Florida Farm Bureau (2012). He was also named Park Champion by the Florida Parks and Recreation Association in 2014 and received the Defender of Liberty Award from the American Conservative Union in 2011.
His additional recognitions include the Distinguished Alumni Award from Florida Southern College (2011), the Guardian ad Litem Legislator of the Year award (2014), and the Leadership Award from the Small County Coalition (2013). He has also been honored by the Peace River Center and the Associated Builders/Contractors for his contributions. |
