| Kathleen Passidomo was elected to the Senate in 2016 and has been reelected subsequently. She served as the Majority (Republican) Leader from 2018 to 2020 and was a member of the House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016.
Her public service includes roles on the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking from 2017 to 2019 and the Florida Public Service Commission Nominating Council in 2017-2018 and 2019-2020. She served as Commissioner on the State of Florida Commission on the Status of Women from 2001 to 2007, where she held the positions of Treasurer from 2003 to 2005, Vice Chairman from 2005 to 2006, and Chairman from 2006 to 2007. Additionally, she was a member of the Board of Supervisors of the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District from 2004 to 2007, founding chairman of the Collier County Juvenile Justice Council, and founding director of the Collier County Senior Resource Center.
Throughout her career, she has received numerous honors and awards, including the Small County Coalition Legislative Appreciation Award in 2021, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Florida Legislative Champion Award in 2021, and the Florida College of Emergency Physicians Legislator of the Year Award in 2021. She has been recognized by organizations such as the Florida Sheriffs Association, Florida League of Cities, Associated Industries of Florida, and the Florida Chamber of Commerce for her contributions to legislation and public service. Her accolades also include the AARP "Capitol Caregivers" Award, multiple Legislator of the Year recognitions from various associations, and awards for advocacy in education, mental health, and real estate law.
She is an active member of several professional and community organizations, including The Florida Bar, the Florida Bar Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section, the Collier County Bar Association, and the Collier County Women's Bar Association. She has also participated in leadership programs such as Leadership Florida and Leadership Collier. She is affiliated with several Republican organizations, including the Collier County Republican Club, Collier County Women's Republican Club, and Marco Island Republican Club.
Kathleen Passidomo is an attorney at Kelly, Passidomo & Kelly, LLP. She was married to the late John M. Passidomo of Naples, Florida. She has three children, Catarina, Francesca, and Gabriella, and two grandchildren, William and Emilio. She earned a B.A. from Trinity University in Washington, D.C., in 1975 and a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 1978. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and moved to Florida in 1979. She is a Roman Catholic and enjoys cooking and opera. |
