Representative Kimberly Alexander was elected to the Georgia General Assembly in 2012. Representative Alexander serves District 66 which encompasses Douglas County and the Southeast section of Paulding County. District 66 is a newly drawn map and Representative Alexander made history by becoming the first African-American female elected to serve the District in Paulding and the first African-American female that lives in Douglas to be elected and serve in Douglas. In the Georgia General Assembly, Representative Alexander sits on the following Committees; Code Revision, Intragovernmental Coordination, Motor Vehicle, Banks & Banking and Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment. During 2013, legislation session, Representative Alexander was appointed by Democratic Minority Leadership to serve as the Ranking Member of the House of Representatives Code Revision Committee. Currently, Representative Alexander serves as the Secretary for the Douglas County Delegation Members. She is also a member of the Paulding Delegation. Representative Alexander resides in Douglas County but grew up in Paulding County and attended Paulding County High School. She is a single mother of a son who graduated from Hiram High School. Representative Alexander earned a B.S. Degree in Sociology from Morris Brown College, with a minor in Education. During her educational pursuit, Representative Alexander worked, full-time on campus while attending classes and raising her son.
