Senator Marty Harbin, a Republican, has served in the
Georgia State Senate since 2014. He represents Senate
District 16, which includes Lamar, Pike and Spalding
counties, as well as a portion of Fayette County.
Sen. Harbin is Chairman of the Senate Committee on
Government Oversight, Vice Chairman of the Senate
Committee on Insurance and Labor, Vice Chairman of
the Senate Committee on Retirement, and member of
the Senate Committees on Ethics and Natural Resources
and the Environment. He is also an Ex-Officio member
of the Senate Committee on Banking and Financial
Institutions.After graduating from Georgia State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sen.
Harbin established the Harbin Insurance Agency which serves individuals and businesses throughout the
Southeast providing insurance, risk management, and investment services. After 48 years, it has grown from
two employees to over twenty. Sen. Harbin and his wife, Debbie, have been married 45 years and have six children and 13 grandchildren (so
far). They live in Tyrone, are members of Flat Creek Baptist Church, and actively support The Fayette
Pregnancy Resource Center, Southwest Christian Care, Christian Families Today, as well as many other
ministries. |
