Bio

Tim Echols grew up in Clayton County in a large entrepreneurial family. The Echols owned a car auction, dairy farm, and house moving business. Tim's grandfather, Ed, was a county commissioner in Clayton County. Later, Tim would help his dad get elected as a Henry County Commissioner. Tim attended North Clayton High School and eventually served as Student Council President, and owned his own car clean-up shop, housed in the family auction barn. In 1978, Tim went to Athens to attend UGA and there met Windy Davis. They were married shortly after Tim graduated with a degree in English, and Windy went on to graduate with a teaching degree from Georgia State. She works for Athens Pregnancy Center. Tim, having grown up in the car business, went to work for Harmon Born, who owned Beaudry Ford in downtown Atlanta. Tim eventually became the Commercial Sales Manager. Beginning at age 19, Tim began to work part-time with youth and at age 28, he decided to go full-time in youth work with the non-profit Campus Crusade for Christ. Tim eventually started his own organization, Family Resource Network. TeenPact, a program of FRN, has grown to be a national citizenship experience for teens operating in 48 states. It is headquartered in Richmond, VA, and Tim serves as President of the organization. TeenPact has trained over 35,000 teens and children since its inception in 1994. Tim is the author of "Real Citizenship" available on Amazon.com Windy and Tim have seven children ranging from 20 to 33 years old. They have been married 37 years and live in Jefferson, just outside Athens. Tim has a BA and two Masters degrees from the University of Georgia.
