Tracy Ehlert is an award-winning early childhood educator and local small business owner. She is currently serving her 3rd term as a State Representative in Linn County. She previously represented Iowa House District 70 and now represents the new Iowa House District 79.
Since 2007, Tracy has successfully operated B2K Learning Center and Consulting. For 13 years, B2K Learning Center and Consulting operated as a State Registered Child Development Home that earned NAFCC Accreditation and a 5 out of 5 on the States Quality Rating System (QRS). B2K offers coaching, mentoring, training, and consulting services on early care and education topics. Due to the rise of COVID-19 and damages from Derecho in 2020, Tracy had to close the childcare portion of the program; however, the center continues to provide all other services.
In addition to managing her small business, Tracy is an educator in the Cedar Rapids Community School District and a Tutor the Kids on Course Program provided by the Zach Johnson Foundation. Tracy sometimes even helps her husband out at the family business, ESP3, a union screen print and graphic design shop. Tracy sits on a number of early education committees, some of which include, the Iowa AEYC Early Childhood Workforce Advisory Committee, and the State Child Care Advisory Committee.
Tracy has an educational background in Business, Child Development, and Early Childhood Education. She completed graduate-level work in Teaching and Diversity. Tracy is invested in ensuring that all Iowan students have equal access to a quality education.
In addition to educational advocacy, Tracy supports accessible, affordable, and equitable healthcare for all Iowans. She is also a proponent of safe working environments, livable wages, and comprehensive benefit packages for Iowa workers.
Tracy currently resides in Cedar Rapids with her husband Justin, her two sons, and three rescue dogs. |
