Biography-
State Rep. Ethan Manning was elected to serve House District 23 in 2018. He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committee. Manning is also a member of the House Public Health and Agriculture and Rural Development committees.
In 2014, Manning was elected to the Miami County Council and was then selected by his peers to serve as president from 2016 through 2018. In his role as president, he served on the Miami County Economic Development Elected Officials Council, as chair of the Miami County Budget Committee and the Incentive Review Committee, on the Miami County Plan Commission, Miami County Technology Committee and the Miami County Purdue Extension Advisory Board. In 2015, Manning was appointed by then-Gov. Mike Pence to serve on the Indiana State Board of
Registration for Professional Engineers. He served as board president in 2018 and worked with fellow members to administer licensing for the 12,000 professional engineers registered in Indiana.
He also holds two professional licenses as a real estate broker and auctioneer.
Manning enjoys volunteer auctioneering for charitable causes and clubs including the Miami County 4-H Fair Livestock Auction, All Saints Catholic Parish Missions Fundraiser in Logansport, North Miami FFA Labor Auction, Country Friends Extension Homemakers Club, Miami County Ham Radio Club, the Fair Haven Foundation and more. He recently married his wife, Bridget, in the summer of 2020 and the two moved to Logansport a few months later. |
