Shaun Mena is a lifelong resident of District 23. He received his K-12 education at schools located in the district. From McDonogh #31 Elementary School, to Thurgood Marshall Middle Magnet, to Warren Easton Fundamental High School, Shaun's roots are deep in the district. Shaun is a husband and a father and a son to a retired Educator. Shaun is an entrepreneur who believes in the principles of hard work and determination.
Shaun will amplify the voice of the people of District 23. He will naturally speak to the values of the District, having actually been a resident his entire life.
Shaun has worked within the Executive Branch of Louisiana State Government as a Policy Analyst for former Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco. While there, Shaun was able to witness the legislative process up close and gain an appreciation for the manner in which legislators advocated for their constituencies in the state Capitol. Shaun also worked for state agencies that dealt with housing and higher education, two issues that are vital to the continued growth and prosperity of District 23. Presently, he is a practicing attorney at The Mena Law Firm, which he founded in 2014.
Shaun has a proven track record of being ethical and professional in his personal and business dealings. First and foremost, he is a dedicated family man. He is a resident of this district who will be visible, accessible and accountable. He can routinely be seen shopping at the local Whole Foods and dining at local eateries and supporting other businesses throughout District 23.
