Respected entrepreneur and small business owner Dewith Carrier announced his candidacy for State Representative for District 32.
When asked why he decided to run for State Representative, Carrier said, "I am pro-life, pro local business. I want to help create job growth through small businesses by cutting regulations and taxes. I am a Christian conservative and will work to protect our Christian values. I have the energy and drive to represent the good hard-working people of Allen, Beauregard and Calcasieu Parishes. I am going to bring their voices to Baton Rouge and I am going to make sure they are heard."
Carrier has been very involved in local communities by boosting economic growth and creating jobs through his company, Service Office Centre'/Teacher's Pet.
Carrier also served his community as Mayor Pro-temp for the town of Oberlin from 1993-2005. His experience and civic mindedness have allowed him to take on many leadership positions such as being the President of the Oberlin Housing Authority, serving as a member of the Allen Parish Crime Stoppers, and holding a board seat for the SWLA Center for Health Services. Carrier was also honored to serve as the president of the Oakdale Rotary Club from 2016-2017 and is currently a member of the Oakdale, Kinder and Crowley Chambers of Commerce.
Carrier and his wife Kathy are long time members of the Oberlin Baptist Church. They are proud parents of four children and have six grandchildren |
