| Barry Scott Milligan isthe Louisiana State Senator for Senate District 38.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Barry and hisfamily moved to Shreveport at the age of 12 for his father to completehis residency at LSU Medical School. Barry is a graduate of CaptainShreve High School, and he earned his BA in Business Management atSoutheastern Louisiana University before accepting a position as aninvestment advisor with Edward Jones in Shreveport. Barry completed hisMBA in 2002 from Centenary College and served on the National AlumniBoard until 2005. Barry has worked in commercial lending at AmSouthsince 2006, serving as a commercial lending relationship manager andvice president at several area banks. Barry also owns Louisiana BusinessConsulting, LLC where he assists nonprofit and for-profit businesses inproper strategic business and capital expansion planning.
Barry is a social conservative, and he and hisfamily are active members of Brookwood Baptist Church in Shreveport,where they serve as youth volunteers. After eight years of serving youthin the church, Barry founded Christian Gym Youth Ministries, LLC wherehe and several other volunteers work with high school and college-agedyoung men teaching the fundamentals of fitness, faith, finance, andfamily. Barry also serves on numerous boards throughout state.
Barry and his wife, Kristin Crew Milligan, have been married for 25years. Together, the two share three daughters - Madison MilliganOliver, married to Clinton Oliver; Katherine Milligan, deceased;and, Chandler Milligan. He is also grandfather to a new baby girl,Eloise Oliver. |
