Senator Gene Dornink is serving his first term as a member of the Minnesota Senate. He represents Minnesota's 27th District, which includes communities in Dodge, Faribault, Freeborn, Mower, and Steele counties. He is the vice-chair of the Senate's Labor and Industry Policy Committee and serves on the committees on Agriculture, Capital Investment, and Human Services Licensing.
Senator Dornink graduated from Austin Vocational School with a carpentry degree and worked in residential construction. He worked as a member of Carpenter's Union #1382 in Rochester for 22 years.
