Biography
I would like to introduce my self as the Republican endorsed candidate from District 2 for a seat in the North Dakota House of Representativess. Connie and I moved to Stanley in October 1978 and took over the Mountrail County Abstract & Title Company, which Connie currently operates. We have two adult children and seven grandchildren.
I am currently the Mountrail County Planner, Planning & Zoning Administrator and the Disaster Emergency Coordinator. I have had this position since 2009. Prior to joining Mountrail County I spent 16 years with the Souris Basin Planning Council as a Community Development Specialist and Economic Developer serving Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville and Ward Counties.
I am a graduate of North Dakota State University, a member of the North Dakota Planning Association, having served as secretary, vice-president, and president; the American Planning Association, the American Institue of Certified Planners; the North Dakota Land Title Association, having served as vice-president and president; North Dakota Emergency Management Association; and certified as an Economic Development Financial Professional by the National Development Council.
Locally I served on the Stanley School Board for 21 years, 9 years as chairman, thirteen years on the Stanley Volunteer Ambulance Service, two years as squad leader, American Lutheran of Stanley church council, one year as chairman, Prairie Lutheran Parish, one year as chairman, and Scoutmaster for Troop 357.
Currently I am a member of the Stanley Lions Club, Stanley Boy Scout Troop Committee, Stanley Boy Scout Trust Committee and the Stanley Area Community Foundation.
