Barta is a North Dakota native, growing up in Michigan, ND. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota and went on to earn his MBA from Troy University in Troy, AL. He and his wife have resided in Grand Forks since 1984.
He is a small business owner in Grand Forks. He currently serves as the President for the St. Joseph's Social Care Board of Directors in Grand Forks, is a member of the Lake Region State College CTE Advisory Committee-FiTT Program and Altru Health System Community Partners. He has served on the Grand Forks/East Grand Forks Chamber Board of Directors, the Parish Council for Holy Family Church and was a member of the Grand Forks Public Schools Long-Term Facility Planning Task Force in 2020.
My Approach
"As a life-long resident of North Dakota, I know how wonderful a place it is to raise a family. I want everyone to have the same opportunity that I have had to live, grow and prosper in our state, especially here in Grand Forks. Decisions made now will impact generations to come, and our community leaders need to be diligent stewards of the resources we are provided. I would be grateful if the constituents of District 43 provided me the opportunity to be their steward in the North Dakota Senate. I look forward to meeting, and listening to, the residents of District 43 during my campaign. |
